Value: AI and the Future of Work (and the world)

A slightly different type of trip this week was to Eightfold AI Cultivate conference at the stunning Hotel Nia in Menlo Park. One of my core #values is learning and this event was a great way to do so about the omnipresent topic of AI. Cultivate is a premier HR event for those looking to transform their organizations with today’s top practices and technologies. Eightfold is a game changer in the talent development space. For any HR professionals, or AI aficionados I highly recommend checking out this fantastic organization and attending the event once scheduled for 2025. My top 4 takeaways on the impact of AI and the future of work are:

AI is here. AI is not the future or something taking place to worry about tomorrow, AI is yesterday, in almost every function. If you aren’t already embracing AI, it’s time to at least become comfortable with some of the tools.
AI in the workplace is a revolution: AI and work isn’t just relevant for HR professionals but for anyone that has a job in the 21st century…because it will impact our future. This reflects the broader shift in workplace dynamics, where technological advancements and cultural changes are reshaping how we work and collaborate

Human-centered priorities are taking center stage: According to Deloitte’s 2o24 Global Human Capital Trends, more boards and executives are recognizing the importance of people, and work satisfaction. The case for human sustainability has never been stronger because as the report states “when people thrive, business thrives.”

Global perception of AI can vary greatly: With the recent introduction of the EU AI Act it’s becoming more clear now than ever that access to innovation, based off regulation will continue to become a hot topic amongst both businesses, politicians and citizens.
