The Shard is truly an iconic, one of a kind landmark that lives up to it’s reputation for having the best view. my3vlife.com was invited to go over 1000 feet way up to the top of this magnificent building which opened in 2013.

London has many famous and notable places to enjoy scenic views, so when determining the best, we factored in many elements of the visitor experience from cost, location, and comfort level. The Shard is absolutely a must visit in London because of it’s location in the heart of it all with convenient train and underground service to London Bridge. From the top, you are able to see many of London’s landmarks, and in the event there is bad weather, the building offers a complimentary return. I was hosted recently and thoroughly enjoyed the views during the afternoon, but have read that nighttime and of course sunset is a magical experience of it’s own.

The landmark offers an excellent visitor experience as well with easy online booking to reduce queues, once you arrive you simply follow the signs and complete a quick security check and you’re up! The visit includes a photo op in the beginning, and 2 short elevator rides and magically you are over 60 stories up! Don’t forget to look up while riding the elevators for a preview of the view to come.

The vibe is more of a high end social club than a tourist attraction with multiple bars and a relaxing atmosphere at the top where visitors can multiple areas and a panoramic 360 view of the city. Even on a colder day, visitors should prioritize heading to the top which is open-air and home to the highest champagne bar in London.
